  • Through the implementation of environmental and equity policies, we seek to strengthen our purpose and the value chains with whose participants we collaborate.

    Environmental policy

    älista is committed to understanding negative environmental impacts and minimizing them, and to identifying and taking advantage of opportunities to maintain or improve the environment by collaborating with customers and suppliers and internally managing organizations.

    We help companies and other stakeholders we collaborate with to implement good environmental practices in agrifood value chains. Our aim is the following: 

    •Maintaining and enhancing biodiversity.

    •Efficiently using available resources and environmental services.

    •Minimizing any negative impact on water and ensuring its adequate stewardship when used in agrifood value chains.

    •Managing and reducing all kinds of pollution

    •Minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.

    •Increasing resilience to climate change.

    We at älista are committed to:  

    •Continually identifying the environmental risks of our operations and defining clear activities to minimize any negative impact on the environment. 

    •Regularly reviewing and updating our environmental policy. 

    •Reducing paper consumption.

    •Encouraging the use of reusable products.

    •Recycling office materials and equipment whenever possible: wastepaper, cardboard, glass, plastic, cans, printer cartridges and batteries. 

    •Collaborating with suppliers that actively seek to minimize the environmental impacts of their activities.

    Gender equity policy

    älista promotes the right to gender equity and non-discrimination as a pillar to achieve its purpose of having a positive impact on the well-being of communities, favoring respect for human rights and complying with international regulations.

    We recognize that women and sexual and gender minorities are groups especially vulnerable to social inequalities, and we believe that everyone deserves equal rights and opportunities beyond gender and the binary concept of male-female. 

    In our organization and in carrying out any project, we promote equal opportunities and benefits for all people, defend the rights of women and men, and people who do not identify with any gender, and favor the empowerment of any individual and group that may be disadvantaged. This means protecting everyone from discrimination, sexual harassment, abuse and exploitation, violence, intimidation, retaliation, and any other denial of basic human rights because of their sex, gender identity, or orientation. 

    We seek to raise awareness of the need for gender equality in our transformation projects and achieve this effectively and with an impact through engagement and coordination within our work ecosystem. In short: we promote a balanced gender representation in our organization.

    Procurement policy

    älista follows rigorous processes for selecting and contracting the suppliers it collaborates with, both for its own internal management and for the operation of projects with our clients, if necessary.

    Selected suppliers must adhere to the established legal framework and to the environmental and gender equity policies defined by älista.
